Followship

Eph. 5:1 "be ye therefore followers of God..."

eal faith has feet and real faith follows.  Following Jesus is the secret of the abundant life and the only way to find your way home.  We follow him in obedience and submission to the Father.  “I always do those things that please Him.”  We follow him in service.  “I must be about my Father’s business.” We follow him in sacrifice.  “Except a grain of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone.” We follow him is suffering.  Paul said, we are called not only to believe, but also to suffer for his sake.” He also said, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, wholly acceptable unto God…” Jesus said, “follow me and I will make you fishers of men.” In the end, we follow him to the Father’s house.  David said, “Surely, goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” Psalm 23 begins with David’s faith, depicted as a sheep following the Shepherd. It ends with the discovery God’s goodness and mercy having followed us all the way home. In the Beginning we and David often sing about our faith, but in the end, it will all be about God’s faithfulness, his goodness and his mercy, that was with us each step of the way. -id
