Where Two ways meet

The cross, where two ways meet
a crossroad and a judgment seat
two ways, one a blessing, one a curse
one way good and one adverse
one way heaven, one way hell
Yet to the proud so hard to tell
A superscription, a crown of thorn
some bow in faith, some cast their scorn
Some set off toward the rising sun
others continue on their way undone
and others hesitate, or into darkness run
two roads clearly mark the way
that will converge again on judgment day
two ways before a sinner’s face
one paved with lies, the other true
the cross the great deciding place
where men chose death or life anew.  -id
